BIST Mothers of Science Supporting Grants
ICFO researcher awarded grant aimed at supporting women scientists in their transition to leadership positions
In 2018, The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology launched the Mothers of Science supporting grant as an initiative to address the gap that exists between the number of women in the BIST Community who are research associates or senior postdoctoral researchers and the percentage of women who are group leaders. The grants are an illustration of the commitment of BIST centers to recognizing the value and excellent research done by female scientists and support them in their career transition.
Now in its second edition, BIST announces the selected recipients of this grant: ten powerful women who are interested in improving their leadership skills to take a step forward in their careers and become a role model for future generations. The grant winners will receive individual coaching sessions, an economic stipend and networking sessions to share tricks and tips. ICFOnian Ewelina Wajs, Postdoctoral researcher in the Optoelectronics research group led by ICREA Prof. at ICFO Dr. Valerio Pruneri is one of the recipients of this grant.
